#Halloween #Gatsby

Once again, Alan and I had a fabulous time at J+J's annual Halloween Party! We decided to do something fun and simple this year: Great Gatsby! …and it turned out really well if I do say so myself! As always, it was wonderful spending time with sweet friends from college that we don't see nearly enough. I am so thankful that we've all stayed pretty close through the years and thankful for their friendships. We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with E+P which is always a treat!

Eat, Drink, and Be Scary

This weekend Alan and I went to Franklin for Janie and John's annual Halloween Party! We had so much fun coming up with our costumes and getting everything together!

As usual, everything was perfect! Janie throws a fabulous party and we had so much fun catching up with the Nashville crowd from college!

 All the costumes were amazing!

 And yes John Berry, you made my blog once again! Cheers!

Pumpkin Carving

Tonight we went over to Kristen and Jesse's house to carve pumpkins! Kristen instructed us to BYOP and she provided dessert and apple cider! We had a great time laughing over designs, apple moonshine, and our beautiful finished products!

Rocky Top & Pumpkin Carving

Alan and I had a super fun weekend with our family and friends. Patrick and Elizabeth came in town on Friday night and we celebrated Patrick's birthday with my whole family and had a great time catching up. On Saturday we all tailgated together on FIJI Island before the game.

Maggie stopped by our tailgate too for a little while as she was making her way throughout campus...such a fun day!

On Sunday, Alan and I decided we were long overdue for some pumpkin carving, but not too late since we still had one more day until Halloween! Here are our pumpkins before:

Mitchell said that Alan, Katie, and I "cheated" since we used a pattern on our pumpkins, that's a pretty harsh word, what do you think?

Alan was the last to finish, but I will say I do think that his pumpkins looked the best!

They all looked so great lit up once it got dark!

And one last treat that I'll share with you if you decide to do a little pumpkin carving yourself is to save the seeds, rinse and dry them, lay them on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with Lawry's seasoning salt and garlic powder, and bake at 400 for 10 minutes, delish!

Trick o' Treat

Last night Alan and I went to Franklin for Janie & John's first annual (Janie I hope I can "officially" consider this a budding tradition!) Halloween Party! IT.WAS.AMAZING.

Janie completely outdid herself in every aspect of the evening. From the fun invites by Beth Hart Designs, to the delicious food, to the quality (and quantity) of drinks, to the gorgeous decor...it could not have been a more perfect night with friends!

The yummy chocolate cake balls were are huge hit! Here is a picture of everything right before the party got started...

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year, Alan and I went to a costume party on Saturday night that my manager, Josh, held downtown at his loft. Everyone from my store came and it was so much fun to see all the creative costumes. Alan and I actually got our costumes for free from a co-worker of mine whose mom who is a nurse at a hospital here in St. Louis. I think that Alan wished our costumes were a little more extravagant, but we had both procrastinated in deciding what to be, so doctors were the end result. We did get to keep the scrubs though! It was a great night-everyone had a blast! Alan really enjoyed meeting the people that I work with and talk to him about, and I enjoyed introducing him to all of them!

On Sunday night (which was actually Halloween) Alan and I were in Knoxville and went over to Maggie and Ben's house and ate a delicious dinner, and then helped pass out candy to all of the trick-or-treaters. Maggie and Ben had prepared for about 300 kids based on a recommendation from one of their neighbors; however, we only had about 100, so we ended up with LOTS of candy left over which Alan was excited about!
