Vols vs. Vandy

Tonight Alan and I went to our first basketball game of the season and our Vols beat Vandy 58-57. It was a fun way to spend time together after work today!

Weekend Activities

We kicked off the weekend on Friday night at Altruda's with friends. It was a blast! It was so much fun to catch up with Amanda & Chris and Becky & Mike. We have all been so busy with the holidays, it seems like it's been forever since we've all gotten together.
Saturday we got an early start to the day with the UT vs. Florida basketball game with Ashley & Watson. Ashley & Watson are friends from college who now live in Greeneville and are pregnant with their first child- a baby boy! It was so much fun catching up with them and watching the Vols pull off an exciting game and a great win! Go Vols!
Sunday afternoon, the ladies from our Bible Study, along with other friends, attended a baby shower for Amy. Amy and her husband, Jared, are pregnant with their first child- a baby girl, and are due any day! We are so excited for them and cannot wait for Ellie to arrive!
The weekend concluded with dinner and a movie at home. We watched We Are Marshall (had to watch a football movie since we are right in the middle of the play-offs) which was just as great as the first time I saw it and still made me cry, I swear, I can be the biggest baby when it comes to such sad but sweet stories. All in all, fantastic weekend and ready to hit the ground running tomorrow!

Love & Basketball

Well, not quite. So last Thursday- Alan and I went to the first UT exhibition basketball game. We were given tickets at the last minute so Alan and I (yes- shamefully admit) skipped out on Small Group to see the Vols begin their season with new head coach, Cuonzo Martin. They did not look too impressive, but did manage to pull off a win!
On Saturday, Alan and I went to the UT vs MTSU Homecoming game. And that's where the "love" part comes in... I guess! I will now admit that as a college sorority girl back in the day, I (along with many other ladies) dreamed about meeting some super cute and oh so fun guy during the week of Homecoming. How many hours were spent at the fraternity house painting, pomping, and trying to race against the clock to have everything ready on time! Alan and I actually did Homecoming together our senior year and I do remember a few conversations we had that left my head spinning :) I guess the rest is history...
So based on all that, I couldn't help but take a picture of all the sorority ladies and fraternity men accepting their hard-earned awards from ACE after a long, and I'm sure quite fun, Homecoming week!
The alumni band members even made it back for Homecoming and participated in the ever-so-popular Circle Drill. Gotta love the band... and Homecoming!!!
